Pantone Color of the Year, Marsala: 9 Rugs to Trend in 2015

Earlier this month, Pantone introduced the Color of the Year for 2015. Marsala has met with a mixed reception. Described by Pantone as a “naturally robust and earthy wine red,” it has also been described as “icky” by critics who think the color more resembles rust, bricks, and even dried blood.  We at stand behind this color choice though.

The last 5 years have been represented by bright, summery pinks, yellows, blues and greens. It’s about time that a color with more sophistication, attitude, and maturity took center stage.  Marsala invites a sense of warmth to home decor. It’s a subtly comforting color that reminds us of ripe fruit, rich lip stick, red velvet cake, Amaryllis flowers, and wine of course.  To show our love of Marsala, we’ve selected some rugs from our vast collection to show off. Each of the 9 rugs below contain shades of Marsala. Please take a moment to pick out your favorite and consider what your home might look like with a little Marsala.
